Would you take the Quad system over the illegal Sonos system you created back in the day?

Do you really think that the extra €2,700 + €499 for the subwoofer is worth it? I have Q990C. Thank you

Daniel, you have mentioned several times you buy all of this equipment. With the items you are not keeping for the long term, Are you able to return for a refund ? If not, do you sell it ? Is there a way for us to buy it directly from you ? Or do you have a garage tons of "new" equipment ? I would like to know the exact location... just kidding !

Here’s a head scratcher for you. Love all your stuff. Long time follower, first time question asker:). Say I’m up to my eye balls in Sonos around the house. Love the “speakers in every room”, but wanted to flirt with the Quads as the home cinema stuff and keep the Sonos as the speakers spread out for music. Is there a way to use the Sonos Port on the Quad to incorporate it into the Sonos system? Obviously not smart money wise, but I think you understand that part of the sound obsession/disease 😂

Great review! I seriously go to you and LandPet for honest reviews. You guys are brand leg humpers. I want to replace my old 5.1 but Sony Quads is right up there in price in comparison to a new 5.1 😑

Taking out one of the HDMI In port was a deal breaker for me.

How would these systems be comparable with dedicated 5.1.2 setup utilizing Klipsch Reference speakers and any of the entry level AVRs like Onkyo TX-NR6100/Sony STR-AN1000/Denon AVR-X1800H?

I recently bought bar 9 with SW5 subwoofer (there was some discount, so managed to buy both of them new for ~1590 USD in Europe, thought it's nice deal). But the price for SA-RS5 seems a bit high just for 2 years old rears (around 741 USD in Europe). Do you know if Sony has any plans to release new lineup for rear speakers? Maybe it is worth to wait to see what they offer there

By the way - I have a Klipsch Core 200 soundbar in a smaller room 12x14 and it sounds tremendous - for a $500 soundbar, have you heard or will you review?

Loved the review - wish you had a Bravia TV so I could have your thoughts on the center channel/TV thing. (I have a SONY A80L) Moving to a house with an 18x25 greatroom (9 ft ceilings) open in the rear. What do you think of the Bar 9 there? Thanks again!

Get this man to 100k subs so compounding can do it's job and take him to a 1 million+ channel, deservedly! Nobody comes close in effort as he does. So many RUclipsrs say it's "hard work" and that's some top tier Oscar Meyer! This is what hard work looks like. He's needs to be doing this full time!

Great video my man. I'm going to go for the Quad in 2025 with the next gen Sony QD-Oled 77". The follow-up to the A95L (A95M ?). That will be my first Oled Tv with my first surround sound system. A match made in Heaven. Haha

Thank you! My wife problem with the quad is the look and colour. We blacked out the ps5 as soon as we could. So the quad is not an option. I watch all you bar reviews. Looking for the best bar. But I have a 65 oled Sony A8 . Does that matter on the bar I buy? I’m leaning toward the Sony bar 9 with the s-5 and sub! Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I have to tell you, I tried the bar 9 with the sw5… with a Bravia 8. Unfortunately, I preferred the Sonos arc with sub mini instead. Oh well.

Voicezoom 3.0 is actually real good. You can also lower the voices if you want to!

I spent hours trying to dig up any proper reviews on the Bar 9 before pulling the trigger on one but that was 3 weeks ago and at the time there was next to no info online aside from headline specs. So I ended up going for the 990D which was decidedly cheaper and has, as well all know, a pretty stellar reputation. What I’m really interested to hear from you though is what do you think about the Bar 9 with the SW5 and RS5s in comparison to the 990D??? Do tell…. Did I make the right choice with the 990D or should I have waited for more reviews from the Sony?

You seriously suggest setting the front Quad speakers 10ft apart? BTW Tidal are dropping support for Sony's 360 Audio, sticking to Atmos only.

New sub here. I have an A80J and want to try a standalone Sony bar with the tv as the center channel.

Those both system is too expensive to me so i will go with samsung.

Went with the Bravia 7 75 inch and the bar 9 /w sub. Perfect setup with use of the zoom 3 that sounds great compared to just going with the quads without a sony tv. Was surprised how much the zoom 3 helped with vocals in movies (not a gimmick)which was a big deal for me! 👍

I have the A9. I love the system. I'm not even going to listen to the new Quad, haha. Why? Because I know I will want it if I do. However... the speakers on the new Quad are a bit too wide for my setup next to the TV. The Quad speakers are more of a statement than the A9's who practically disappears.

Question: I live in an apartment, the walls are not super thin, but still, I can get a bit paranoid with the sub from my current Q990C. I’m considering buying the Quad, but without the sub, only quad. Do you think that the sound would be satisfactory enough? Like, enough bass without any risk of feeling paranoid when watching blurays? Thanks!

My Rears are a good 3 inches behind my ears, thought about pushing the wall back but the house would fall down so I'm still undecided...

Wonder if the center sync hiss is still an issue with the new gen bars. Sony had to replace tv motherboards to make the hiss go away.

I like the idea of the A9 and quad but for the price I could build a decent atmosphere system. I couldn't justify buying that for what they're asking price wise. I agree with what you said about the soundbar too. I heard the Samsung q990B in my brother in law's house and I could tell that front sound was coming from the soundbar without proper front left - right separation. It sounded like the sound is coming from three areas. You just can't beat having two front speakers for left and right sound. Soundbar manufacturers should make it possible to add two front speakers like the rear surround speakers that you can buy separately for their soundbars.

Great vid as always. As I've stated like you... If you can't place the quads at least 2.5m apart minimum then go for a soundbar. Seen some dumb setups of the original A9 and quads where they have them so close together that they may as well have stacked them on top of each other 😅

Thanks a lot for this well documented video, I was about to buy and went for Q990D instead of a bose soundbar, I also saw Q990C but it was at the same price, mexico issues xD, but I'm happy that I got the latest version of Q990 series 🎉, and I will not target Q Symphony then, I still need a good TV gaming screen that can exploit my gamer desires of PS5 gamming and cloud gamming with the samsung Q990D
